Heiken Ashi EA ΜΤ5 is a fully automated Expert Advisor for trading the Classic or Smoothed Heiken Ashi candles at an entirely new approach. Heiken Ashi EA MT5 opens a single trade after the first different color candle's close and an opposite trade on every Heiken Ashi color change. There is an option to use this EA by opening the first trade after the 1st Heiken Ashi candle of different color has been closed and then open a new same direction trade on every candle, as long as the color of Heiken Ashi candles remains unchanged. A series of unique settings make this EA extremely versatile, for example the option to limit the distance between same direction orders in order to avoid too many similar level trades or the offset setting that forces the EA to wait for a better price on each new candle. At the same time you are able to control your trading account's profit and/or loss at a basket level, for all your open positions combined. A Moving Average filter is also available in order to skip opening trades that are not following the current trend.

This EA comes with new set files for many symbols/instruments, specially optimized for ECN Raw Spread ICMarkets accounts (New York based GMT+3 time zone servers). Other brokers or account types may be used, but you may need to make any necessary time adjustments to fit your broker/account.

If you decide to buy, trade only those symbols that perform well in the last few months in the strategy tester with a low 0.5% to 1% risk per trade and not all provided set files. I suggest to repeat this backtest of all provided set files every 2-3 months and then choose the 4-5 symbols that perform better in the past few months.

This EA is good in a trending market. However, it performs very bad in a consolidating market. A filter ought to be added to allow it place trades only when the market is trending.

A Moving Average filter is already in place and helps avoiding some consolidation, but there is no magic filter that will stop the EA and any other EA from opening trades during non-trending periods. I am always open to suggestions that will help improving the Heiken Ashi EA.

Hands down the best Heiken Ashi EA I've found on this marketplace. Couldn't find a strategy to get this thing working at first (on the 1H timeframe), but now I've figured it out. It works best on the 4H and the Daily timeframes when the market is trending, but I've also managed to get it to work in choppy markets using the classic HA candles by using a tight stop loss and intervening a bit when a new HA trend starts going against me by using price alerts and manually closing trades. That's a lot easier to do on the Daily timeframe than the 1 hour timeframe and below.

UPDATE (9/20/22): Just confirmed through the strategy tester that the new XAUUSD D1 strategy is profitable. And the addition of volatility-based TP's and SL's (ADR) made this EA a lot better.
