How far back is normal to backtest a trading strategy?
Some people like to test their strategies for a long period like 10–15 years, which to me is totally useless. Everyone knows that the market changes all the time due to many reasons like interest rates, economic events, and financial crisis.
We do not want to base our trading on strategies that performed well 10, 15 or 20 years ago, simply because the market was different and you are not trading that market anymore.
Also keep in mind that if you test the strategies on too long of data, you will lower your daily profit. And if you test on too short data, you won't have enough number of trades. That is why 1 to 2 years back data is the golden middle to backtest your strategy with. I also like to run optimization on my set files every 3 to 4 months with the latest 1 to 2 years of data. This will make sure your trading strategy is at its best setting for more profit and less drawdown.Not recommended for United States residents unless you have hedging broker

Running on live account for almost a month with set sharing by Michael. Average daily profit is around 7-14. Michael is very helpful in the discord channel and keep the EA update with new features every other weeks.
