I have found the same thing but it depends whether is start MT from the symlink or from within the Editor. 

I don't know exactly, if I click the desktop I have a new platform asking a password I already gave; and if I click in the list of program,(by window button) if is ok, the good platform open.

As a result when I download an indicator, It is the metaeditor of the "terminal data folder" which is open. I have two metaeditor, same name, different place

It's confusing and it should be solved.

better not use the portable mode, until someone give a solution  :-)
