Chicago Fed National Activity Index provides monthly evaluation of the overall economic activity and inflationary pressure in the United States. It is a weighted average of 85 monthly indicators of national economic activity in four categories:

  • production and income;
  • labor market;
  • personal consumption and housing;
  • sales, orders and stocks.

The index is used in measuring the current and future economic activity and inflation in the United States.
