Caixin Non-Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) reflects business activity in China's service sector. It is calculated based on a survey of purchasing managers from more than 400 service companies.
Respondents are polled to assess changes in business activity, new orders, prices, employment and business expectations in the past month.
Readings above 50 point to the business activity growth in the service sector, and readings below 50 indicate a decline. Growth of non-manufacturing PMI may affect yuan quotes positively.
