Brazilian Mid-Month Consumer Price Index (CPI) y/y reflects a change in prices for a fixed basket of goods and services from the consumer perspective in the reported month compared to the same month of the previous year. Data is collected from households having purchasing power from one to forty minimum wages, fifteen days before the reported month. The calculation includes spendings in all the major private consumption segments, such as food, clothing, payments, housing expenses, health, communication, etc. The index growth can be seen as positive for the Brazilian real quotes.
