New York Mercantile Exchange

The New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) is the world's largest commodity futures exchange owned and operated by CME Group of Chicago. Trading there is conducted through two divisions: the NYMEX Division, where the energy, platinum and palladium markets are located, and the COMEX Division, where metals like gold, silver and copper and the FTSE 100 index options are traded.

Mostly electronic since 2006, the NYMEX maintains a small venue that still has the open outcry trading system, in which traders employ shouting and complex hand gestures on the physical trading floor.

The Exchange is located at One North End Avenue in Brookfield Place in the Battery Park City section of Manhattan, New York City, with additional offices in Boston, Washington, Atlanta, San Francisco, Dubai, London, and Tokyo.
