1. Introduction


Thank you for downloading the Price Volume Breakout Technical Indicator a specialized tool to perform technical analysis on price-volume, one of the most important technical indicators.

This manual contains parameters details, examples and downloads.

Prerequisites

The Price Volume Breakout Technical Indicator needs sufficient history data. On the price range especially, unavailable, i.e., empty, or newly filled price zones on upper or lower boundary limits provide inaccurate results.



2. Parameters

2.1 Data functions

  •       Data Volume - default 'Tick Volume'
    •       Tick Volume
    •       Real Volume

  • Data Price - price designating price zone for volume distribution, default 'Close'
  •     Close
  •     High
  •     Low
  •     Median
  •     Typical
  •     Weighted



  •      Data Price Zone, Size (Points) - size per price zone specified in points, default 50

  •      Data Time Range - total time range of price-volume dataset, default 'All Data'
    •       All Data
    •       Specified Start to End
    •       Specified Start to Specified End
    •       Start to Specified End



  • Data Price Zones, Max amount, default 2048, minimum 1024, upper bound limited by system resources, effective if sufficient history data is available, i.e., total price range being large enough to divide

     

  • Data Price Range Gauge, Sync with VBP - set at the exact point value as Volume by Price indicator, default 0



2.2 Evaluation functions

  • Evaluation Data, default 'Average difference volumes'

  • Evaluation, Down - amount of zones to look-down, default 8

  • Evaluation, Up - amount of zones to look-up, default 8


  • Evaluation C/D MA, default Simple

  • Evaluation C/D MA, Slow Period, default 26


  • Evaluation C/D, Signal SMA Period, default 9

  • Display Evaluation Data - display primary histogram, default true


  • Display Evaluation, C/D (Confergence/Divergence) - display secundary histogram and signal, default true

    

  • Display Evaluation Data Totals, default false

  • Display Evaluation Data Totals, Percentage - set in accord with parameter 'Evaluation Data', used with option 'Average largest volume' and 'Average difference volumes', default 0



2.4 Notifications

  • Notification - the AND operator is applied between parameter 'Notification Match' 1 to 3, parameter 'Match Value' is compared with 'CD Signal' value, default Off
