Arturo claims a 90% win rate for his Wolfe Waves indicator. I just ran this indicator from the beginning of 1 January 2015 to 21 September 2015 on both the USDJPY  H1 and the EURUSD H1 and on both I get only a 50% win rate.

So the claim for 90% accuracy is not true. But of course, it can be possible to make a profit with a 50% win rate depending on one's profit target being a Risk:Reward of 1:2 or better.

Thank for providing us with such an interesting indicator. I have converted this indicator into an EA but one problem. I need to set take profit and stop loss but unable to do so as i do not know what variables you are using to store the Wave 5 point to be used for Stop Loss and Trendline between Wave 1 & 4 for Take Profit. Will you be able to provide that info?

I just demoed this indicator, by far the worst wolfe wave indicator I have seen. It drew maybe ten percent of them properly, the lines have to converge, most of the signals were expanding. And it missed so many of them, man. I have free versions that are better than this.

hi i understand that the fifth point must repaint the logic make sense but why are people saying it bad ? this indicator should be amazing with divergence should it not ?

Hi Tropical Recon,

My two cents on your nice comment.

  • The indicator must repaint as the 5 point moves
  • The lines can converge (you can enable perfect patterns in inputs, and also chose to display the TP line)
  • To find all patterns, load the indicator several times on the chart with different amplitudes, for example, 6, 12, 18 and 24.

Hi Marvin,

Some people just don't like repainting indicators and want "magic arrows" indicators. But in the case of pattern indicators, the last point must repaint as it expands.

I try to solve this adding a breakout detection after the pattern forms.

Hi! From my experience, strict waves are not more precise that non strict. Just make sure to load the indicator several times with different incremental amplitudes to catch waves of different sizes. Take care!

Not right or wrong settings. Just load the indicator several times in the chart with several amplitudes: 6, 12, 18 and 24 for instance.

Hi, sometimes i get a alarm, sometimes not. If i get alarm, switch to the chart, the the pattern is too high to buy or sell. Most times i have to switch through the charts to find the waves because i did not get a alarm. What is wrong? In most cases it is too late to act.

Hi Reza! The indicator alerts when a pattern is broken at bar closing. If the pattern is small relative to bar sizes, it might be late to act, but that won't be very often. To solve this, you can increase the size of the patterns to find in the inputs parameter, so patterns are bigger relative to the bars of the chart. Take care.
