We've launched the beta version of the MQL5.community website devoted to the new MQL5 language from MetaQuotes Software Corp. We've always tried to take into account all suggestions and comments of our forum members, and most of your suggestions will be implemented on this new website.

The new MQL5 Forum is divided into categories for discussing various topics. Further new categories may appear, while the whole forum will become better and better as new features are added.

We tried to preserve the convenient structure of the website. Thus the first section is Documentation that contains the up-to-date official information on the MQL5 language. If you don't need a local version of the MQL5 Help, you can always refer to it online. MQL5 continues developing, that's why the official documentation will be extended and improved. We will appreciate your reports on errors detected when testing the new resource.

Another planned section of the website is the MQL5 Book, which will be filled after the completion of the book by Sergey Kovalyov, who is also the author of MQL4 Book.

The traditional section of Code Base intended for publishing source codes in MQL5 is under development now. As soon as it is ready, it will be opened to offer you new features. We hope the MQL5 code base will be as popular as that of MQL4 programs.

The important part of this new resource is the Articles section. The first articles have been published already. We invite all authors who want to share their secrets of writing programs in MQL5 for the MetaTrader 5 terminal. Publish your articles on this new resource and get your author's fee of $200 and more! Articles for publishing should be interesting to those who are connected with the automation of trading in world financial markets.

Many of planned things are not yet reflected on the website for its beta testing period. New sections (5 more sections) and services will be added to the website to offer absolutely new possibilities both to traders and investors.

We invite you to actively communicate on the new resource and test all its new features!
Event handling in MQL5: Changing MA period on-the-fly
Suppose that simple MA (Moving Average) indicator with period 13 is applied to a chart. And we want to change the period to 20, but we do not want to go to indicator properties dialog box and edit the number 13 to 20: simply tired of these tedious actions with mouse and keyboard. And especially we don't want to open indicator code and modify it. We want to do all this with a single press of a button - "up arrows" next to the numeric keypad. In this article I'll describe how to do it.

Thanks! My account from the MQL 4 website works here as well.

When do you expect the Code Base will be available?

Greetings, Peter M.

Hi All,

Once I downloaded the client terminal and installed it, some few experiences a bit dissatisfy me.

I think that this MT5 is not so far different that it's predecessor, and even:

1. sluggish on start up, or restart after an update done.

2. toolbar is too big, i.e. for such a net-book screen with only 1024x600 or 1024x768 resolution.

Do you guys experiencing others?

Thanks.
